Restaurants - Edinburgh and The Lothians

Restaurant at The Bonham
The food at Restaurant at the Bonham in Edinburgh is rooted in the French tradition and given zest with expertly sourced, seasonal Scottish produce. Head chef, Michel Bouyer, has been awarded two coveted AA rosettes for the restaurant, in recognition of his creative flair and the skilful way in which he has reinterpreted classic French cooking using Scotland's abundant natural larder.

Channings Restaurant
Channings Restaurant in Edinburgh is a delightful, neighbourhood bistro with a friendly, relaxed atmosphere and a well-edited all day menu.

The Atholl
The Atholl started life as a private dining room for guests staying at The Howard Hotel in Edinburgh. The Witchery

Le Cafe Saint Honore
Hidden down a cobbled lane in the heart of Edinburgh's New Town. Two minutes from Princes Street. Their menu changes daily, reflecting the seasons and the availability of fresh produce. Wherever possible ingredients are sourced from local suppliers and they are strong supporters of the 'slow food movement'.

The Kitchin

Martin Wishart
Martin Wishart opened his eponymous restaurant in Edinburgh’s historic Port of Leith with his wife Cecile in February 1999. Now celebrating ten years of continuing growth, the doors that opened with just four staff now play host to a kitchen, front-of-house and management team of over twenty five.

Maison Bleue
Set in the heart of Edinburgh's historic old town, Maison Bleue Restaurant offers French, North African and traditional Scottish cuisine using cooking skills from each of these regions.

The Shore Bar and Restaurant

The Plumed Horse
Situated in Leith in Edinburgh, The Plumed Horse is a Michelin starred restaurant with delicious inventive food.

Tigerlily Restaurant
Situated on George Street, in the centre of Edinburgh's New Town, Tigerlily boasts a series of flexible dining and drinking spaces, each with their own individuality and character: 2 glass ceilinged courtyards and large curved booths made private by metal shimmer curtains.

Thai Orchid
The Thai Orchid is a delightful Thai, family run Edinburgh restaurant, was one of the first to open in Edinburgh in 1996, and has gone from strength to strength since relocating to Johnston Terrace, just off the Royal Mile in June 2005. Within sight of Edinburgh Castle, the restaurant is modern, uncluttered, comfortable and spacious, leaving the authentic Thai artworks to speak for themselves.

Fishers

Fishers Bistro in Leith and Fishers in the City, Thistle Street, are both excellent restaurants serving a fabulous choice of fresh seafood and poultry. Non meat dishes are also available.

The Stockbridge Restaurant
From the moment you descend into the decadent grotto that is The Stockbridge Restaurant you know you’re in for a treat.   The restaurant is beautifully decorated with fresh flowers and fairy lights, quality linen and heavy silver cutlery. The food is exceptional, using fresh, locally sourced seasonal produce.

Howies - Victoria Street
Howies Victoria Street is situated in the historic heart of Edinburgh's Old Town. A two minute walk from both the Royal Mile and the Grassmarket makes it the ideal place to pop in for a bite whether you are a visitor to our city of are simply out shopping.

Ducks Restaurant

Formerly in Edinburgh, Ducks Restaurant has relocated to the peaceful village of Aberlady in East Lothian, 25 mins down the coast from Edinburgh.  It remains much the same but operates together with Kilspindie House (26 rooms) and Donalds an excellent Bar/Bistro all under the ownership of Malcolm Duck.

Bass Rock Bistro

The Bass Rock Bistro serves some of the finest food in East Lothian. Specialising in local seafood such as North Berwick lobster, octopus and crab, Eyemouth landed white fish (monk and halibut), prime Scots beef, lamb and poultry from multiple prize winning local butcher "John Anderson & Sons", locally shot game also features on the menu, whilst Shetland Mussels are a particular favourite with many of the regulars.

La Potiniere
La Potinière restaurant,situated in Gullane's Main Street, and is owned by award winning chefs Keith Marley and Mary Runciman. Only 30 minutes from Edinburgh, this jewel in East Lothian's culinary crown is surrounded by some of Scotland's finest golf courses including Gullane's reknowned links courses.

Eastern Eye
Eastern Eye are a long established popular restuarant in Haddington, East Lothian, offering the finest in Indian Cuisine. Their extensive menu has something for everyone, and the chefs take pride in using the freshest ingredients in all of their cooking.

The Park Bistro
The Park Bistro and Restaurant is less than 2 miles from Linlithgow Palace and offers an opportunity to enjoy the pleasures of both local produce and its unique location.

The Bridge Inn
Situated in a stunning and picturesque setting on the banks of the Union Canal, the Bridge Inn is a unique pub and restaurant.  The Bridge Inn is a wonderful place to visit, to taste some freshly cooked food, try some cask ales or sample from the expanding wine list, and enjoy a warm and  friendly atmosphere and welcome.
