Fishing - Edinburgh and The Lothians


Ballencrieff Fishery

Ballencrieff Fishery is situated at Ballencrieff Toll near Bathgate and has 2 reservoirs, the four acre RoAn Loch and the two acre Helee Pond. Both were formerly used to feed Ballencrieff and parts of Bathgate.

 

Allandale Tarn Fishery
Situated in Gavieside, West Calder, Allandale Tarn Fishery is a " Troutmaster Water" and issues a warm welcome to all anglers and angling clubs. Large numbers of natural insects and flies make Allandale a superb venue for dry fly and nymph fishing.

 

Crosswood Fishery
A superb trout loch with beautiful scenery and wildlife. The fishery is situated in the Pentland Hills near to Edinburgh, the beautiful capital city of Scotland. The reservoir is well-stocked with Rainbows and Blue Trout.

 

Parkley Fishery
Set in the beautiful Bathgate Hills, Parkley Fishery is fully maintained and stocked with rainbow trout and occasional brown trout.

 

Bangour Trout Fishery
Situated near Livingston, Bangour Fishery is a fantastic trout fishing reservoir which has been fully restored to provide you with everything you need for a wonderful days fishing.

 

Morton Fishery
Situated in Mid Calder, Morton Fishery is a well established fishery of 22 acres which is set in woodland some 900 feet above sea level with an artificial dam wall – this gives the angler a chance to fish a variety of flies and patterns at the fishery.

 

Beecraigs Fishery
Situated in Beecraigs country park near Linlithgow, this is a long established, sheltered, 20 acre, chalk spring Loch, which is regularly stocked with quality Rainbow Trout.

 

Dooks Fisheries
Dooks Fisheries provide fly fishing for brown, blue and rainbow trout on Glencorse and Clubbiedean Reservoirs. Glencorse Reservoir also has a population of brook trout.

 

Malleny Angling Association

The association exists to promote and protect the fishing in the Threipmuir and Harlaw reservoirs. The reservoirs are about 7½ miles south-west from the centre of Edinburgh, at the foot of the Pentland Hills. Threipmuir has a good head of wild brown trout and is also stocked throughout the year by the club. Harlaw is stocked with Rainbow trout every two weeks throughout the season.

Loganlea Rainbow Trout Fishery
Loganlea offers unrivalled fishing for trout from bank and boat and is situated in the heart of the Pentland Hills only 15 minutes from Edinburgh.

 

Markle Fisheries
Markle Fisheries is set in the beautiful East Lothian countryside, adjacent to East Linton, and is only 25 minutes south-east of Edinburgh. The fishery comprises of three lochans the Markle, Monastery, and Kin Lochs totaling 10 acres. The lochs are easily accessible for bank fishing only.
